Capital Women's Tennis Looking To Put Its "Stamps" on the Competition
First year Capital University women's tennis coach Shaun Stamps hopes to deliver the school's first ever OAC Championship with the return of seven letterwinners. The Crusaders open up the 2003 season at The Capital Center on Saturday (Feb. 15) at 11 a.m. against Ohio Wesleyan University.

Leading the returners is junior Nici Workman (Chillicothe/Unioto).  Workman, a two-time All-OAC tennis selection, went 10-4 in singles play and 8-3 with senior Elizabeth Visintine (Worthington/Bishop Watterson) in doubles play.  This past fall Workman was also the OAC's Most Valuable volleyball player.

Junior Greta Thorkelson (Akron/Copley), who was a team-best 11-3 in singles play last season also returns along with senior Kathleen Thomas (Columbus/Westland).

There is added motivation for the Crusaders this season as Capital will host the 2003 OAC Women's Tennis Tournament on April 25-26.
