Tiffin Wins Purple & White Invitational
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Tiffin
University posted a two-day total of 733 for an 18 stroke victory in
the 2003 Capital University Purple & White Women's Golf Invitational at Foxfire
Golf Club in Lockbourne, Ohio on Friday.
Tiffin entered Saturday with a 12 shot lead and carded a tournament
best 372 behind Angie Hill and her tournament-record matching 79 on
a windy, cold and wet Foxfire course. Hill's low round
propelled her to medalist honors.
Otterbein College placed second 19 shots back, while Ohio Northern
University (815) edged out Baldwin-Wallace College (820) for third
place. Mount Union College (828) rounded out the top-five in
the 10-team event.
Tournament host Capital finished in eighth place with sophomore Julie Huffman (Wellston/Wellston)
(184) leading the Crusaders with a sixth place finish.
