Jones Finishes 16th at NCAA Championships
Capital University junior Bobby Jones (Jefferson/Jefferson Area) finished 16th in the triple jump this past weekend at the 2005 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.

Jones was the first Capital qualifier to the national meet since Mark Spitzer in the triple jump in 1982. The school did not sponsor track and field from 1984 to 2001.

Jones is the two-time Ohio Athletic Conference outdoor triple jump champion and has been named the conference’s outstanding field athlete in the last two outdoor championships and the 2005 indoor championship.
