Capital 'Quaked' by Wilmington

(WILMINGTON, Ohio)--
Capital University's men's soccer team dropped its third Ohio Athletic Conference game of the season Wednesday in Wilmington, Ohio by a score of 1-0 to the Wilmington College Quakers.

In the first period both teams were almost equal in shots taken, the Crusaders' eight shots to the Quakers' seven. After a strong front put up by both teams in the first half, the game entered the second half tied at 0-0.

Wilmington's Chad Garman scored the game's only goal 58:54 minutes into the contest, eventually giving the Quakers the 1-0 win. They improve to 11-5-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the OAC.

The Crusaders drop to 12-5-1 overall and 5-3 in the OAC. Freshman Joey Snyder (Columbus/Thomas Worthington) led the Crusaders in shots with four, followed by junior Eric Tarr (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) with three shots. Freshman goalkeeper John Snyder (Columbus/Thomas Worthington) ended the night with five saves, giving him 75 for the season.

The Crusaders finish out the 2005 regular season on the road Saturday in Marietta, Ohio for a 2 p.m. match against the Marietta College Pioneers.
