Capital Loses in Overtime in Consolation Game

(DELAWARE, Ohio)—Capital
University's men's soccer team lost its second-straight one-goal game with a
1-0 overtime loss to Fredonia State (N.Y.) College Saturday night in the
consolation game of the Fred Myers Invitational in Delaware, Ohio.
Trevor Ianni scored a pushed a in a rebound in the fifth minute of overtime
to break a scoreless tie and give Fredonia State (1-1) the win.
Capital freshman John Snyder (Columbus/Thomas Worthington) posted a
season-high 12 saves in the loss.
Capital junior defenseman Tony Miller (Springfield/Catholic Central)
and sophomore midfielder Heath Oberle (Westerville/Westerville South)
were both named to the all-tournament team.
Capital (0-2) looks for its first win next
Wednesday, Sept. 3, in the home opener Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 5:15 p.m.
against Oberlin College.
