Crusaders Fall to Number No. 25 Polar Bears
Ohio Northern 74, Capital 60 [Box Score]

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - A foul shot by sophomore forward Brad Buckner (Milford/Milford) cut the Ohio Northern lead to 47-42 with 9:45 to play, but a 12-0 Polar Bear run gave the visiting team a 17-point lead as Capital University ultimately was defeated 74-60 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup at The Capital Center  in Columbus, Ohio.

Capital is now 6-10 on year and falls to 3-7 in the OAC, while No. 25 Ohio Northern improves to 12-4 and 7-3 in the conference.

Ohio Northern jumped out to an early lead in the first period before a Capital run tied the score at 21 at the 6:42 mark. Sophomore guard Pat Stolly (Lima/Lima Central Catholic) hit two three-pointers in the run.

From the 6:42 mark on, the Polar Bears went on a 13-3 run to end the half and led 34-24 at halftime. The Crusaders went 1-7 shooting from the field in that time period and 1-4 from the free-throw line.

Stolly led the Crusaders in scoring with 12 points, while freshman guard Nate Stahl (St. Henry/St. Henry) and sophomore guard Matty Owens (Mason/Mason) each had 11. Stolly also dished out three assists and had two steals.

Sophomore guard Kyle Gehle scored 24 points to lead the Polar Bears.

Capital will play at home again on Wednesday evening as they host Heidelberg College at 7:30 at The Capital Center.
