No. 22 Ohio Northern 67, Capital 63
[Box Score]
(ADA, Ohio) - Capital University's men's basketball team traveled to No. 22 Ohio Northern for an Ohio Athletic Conference contest on Saturday and led most of the way, however a 29-16 Polar Bear run in the last 13 minutes gave the home team the advantage and a 67-63 victory.

Capital (5-7, 2-4 OAC), which never trailed in the game until the 2:41 mark in the second half, held a 37-26 halftime lead. Sophomore forward Steve Kyser (Sylvania/Sylvania Southview) dominated the post in the first stanza, tallying 12 points, including 6-6 from the foul line.

The Crusaders quickly lost their double-digit lead as the second half started as Ohio Northern (9-3, 4-2 OAC) scored the first six points of the period and continued to hang around until they tied it at the 3:31 mark on a three-pointer from guard Greg Badenhop, making the score 56-56.

With Ohio Northern holding a 65-63 lead with 29 seconds to play, the Crusaders had a chance to tie the contest but a jumper from freshman guard Nate Stahl (St. Henry/St. Henry) did not find the bottom of the net as Capital would leave Ada with a hard fought 67-63 loss.

Kyser finished with a team high 20 points and grabbed seven boards for Capital while Stahl and sophomore guard Matty Owens (Mason/Mason) tallied 12 and 10 points respectively.

Capital held the rebounding edge 36-31, however the Polar Bears turned the ball over only six times as opposed to the Crusaders 18.

Badenhop led all scorers with 31 points in the game as he was the only Polar Bear in double-figures.

Next up for the Crusaders is a trip to Tiffin, Ohio to take on OAC foe Heidelberg College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
