Crusaders Deck the Halls with Big Red

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - The Capital University men's basketball team picked up a 91-57 home win in a non-conference bout against Denison University Monday in Columbus.

The Crusaders (5-5) took the lead early and with 15:40 left in the half and up 11-9, the Crusaders cruised with a 19-4 run to lead 30-13 with 5:58 left on the clock. At halftime, Capital had a comfortable 44-27 scoring margin.

Denison (2-9) never came within the 19-point gap they had heading into the second round of this game.

Capital shot 53 percent (36-67) in this game, including 11-of-23 from behind the arc. The 11 made three-pointers just missed the school-record for most in a game by one (12 vs. Baldwin-Wallace, 1/5/91).

Freshman Nate Stahl (St. Henry/St. Henry) made five of those 11 three-pointers on his way to a game high 25 points. Mark Tinklenberg (Dublin/Dublin Coffman) followed up with 12 points. 

Capital takes a break until Jan. 4 when they host Ohio Athletic Conference opponent John Carroll University at 7:30 p.m.
