Bihn Named OAC Player of the Week
Chuck Bihn (Fort Recovery/Fort Recovery)
was named OAC Player of the Week this week for two "big"
performances. Big is a word often heard around the 6-6, 250-pound forward, but
this week it was associated with his game as he had 16 points and 18 rebounds
against NCAA Division I Eastern Kentucky. He followed that with 17 of his
game-high 23 points and eight of his game-high 16 rebounds in the second half
to rally Capital in its 78-76 overtime win over Otterbein. Bihn has four
double-doubles in his first six games and his latest came against reigning
conference MVP Jeff Gibbs of Otterbein.

20:00 minutes without a field goal and you might think that the chances of
that team winning a game is nearly impossible.
Well the Capital University men’s basketball team almost pulled off
mission impossible as they came within nine points of beating NCAA Division I
Eastern Kentucky, losing 70-61 on Tuesday night.

OAC Preseason Basketball Polls Released
Preseason
polls from both media and coaches were released at the annual Ohio Athletic
Conference Basketball Media Day on Wednesday in Columbus.
The Crusader men were picked eighth by the coaches and ninth by the
media. Capital returns just two starters and only five letterwinners
from a 7-18 squad a season ago.
"We
(Capital) are rebuilding and have a lot of new faces and many questions
heading into this season," stated head coach Damon Goodwin.
"This is the best Division III league in the nation and we know we will
have to battle every night for everything."
The
Crusaders begin the 2000-01 season in Fredricksburg, Virginia at Mary
Washington College next Friday.
