The Crusader general in the war in the trenches is Michael Ancona, who is in his sixth season coaching the offensive line at Capital.

Prior to his days in Columbus, Ancona, spent five seasons as a player and coach at John Carroll University. Ancona played for three seasons on the Blue Streaks offensive line, before coming over to the sidelines. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in History in 1994.

The Alliance, Ohio, native was an All-Ohio football and baseball player at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

Aside from his duties on the gridiron, Ancona is the assistant director of facilities and intramural sports director and lives in Dublin.
