Capital Men Finish Fifth, Women Fourth at Xavier Cross Country Invitational
(CINCINNATI, Ohio)—Capital University’s men’s and women’s cross country teams finished fifth and fourth respectively at the Xavier University Cross Country Invitational.

Junior Melissa Burgei (Ottawa-Ottawa-Glandorf) paced the women's team, finishing ninth overall with a time of 19:56. Freshman Shelly Gaines (Grove City/Central Crossing) crossed the finish line 13th, less than a minute behind Burgei with a time of 20:28.

The top finisher for the men was freshman Matt Harmon who crossed in 20th place with a time of 17:26.

Next up for the Crusaders is a trip to Westerville on Saturday Sept. 24 to take on Otterbein at 12 p.m.
