Capital University baseball outfielders Marc St. John (Perrysburg/Perrysburg) and Jake Butler (Newark/Licking Valley) were rewarded for their play in the 2006 season by being named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference baseball team.

Best Conference Finish in 10 Years Highlights '06 Season for Crusaders

In 1997, Capital University's baseball team went 19-19 overall and 8-10 in the Ohio Athletic Conference to finish sixth in the standings. Not since 1997 have the Crusaders won eight conference games until this season, and by doing so, tied for fifth place in the league, their top finish since 1995.

In year two of Head Coach Greg Weyrich’s reign at Capital, the Crusaders won 16 games, the most victories for the program since they won 19 in 1997.

With only one player graduating and a number of talented freshmen coming into the fold, the future looks bright for Capital University ’s baseball team as they look to crack the .500 mark in the win-loss column for the first time since 1995.
